Homeschooling here we come…

Yes you read that right, we are on our way to start homeschooling.  It has taken us a while to get to this point, but here we are!

I’m very excited to start our homeschooling year!  We will be starting here in the next two weeks and we will be on our way to our new, free of the chains of public school, Life!  Yay!   Home schooling is not for everyone and while we stumble down our newly chosen path I’m sure we will have some ups and downs, but we are going to try hard and just push on through!  I’m sure in the end we will all be happy with our decision.

In a few weeks we will be pulling Nathaniel out of school and we will begin on our journey.  What has lead up to this decision is a combination from our experience with public school last year and the start of this year.  Here in the hot state of GA, public school starts on the 1st of August.  So my son is well in to his 3rd month of  first grade in public school.  We received his first report card home and have had two notes home on behaviour and a phone call from the VP of the school (did I mention that call wasn’t made to us but to my son’s afterschool program, oh that burns me up!).

So with that, instead of dealing with the school we’ve decided to take it into our own hands and teach our son at hom. And in the words of my mom (I love you mom!), We can’t do any worse than public school… so it is a Win-Win!  lol  So stay tuned and I’ll try to keep this page updated with our new way of life!

Congratulations! You will never regret it! Have you read some Barb Shelton, Raymond and Dorthy Moore, Marilyn Howshall, or John Holt? They will really get you fired up!
